PEACHTREE ROOST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Peachtree Roost has as a goal to promote and further the technological base of electronic defense. To address this goal, in part, the Peachtree Roost aims to provide scholarships to deserving students who show an interest in some technical discipline related to the electronic defense industry. Because the Peachtree Roost is closely allied with the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Roost has limited the recipients of the scholarships to those who are attending Georgia Tech. We issue two type scholarships -- one general with no discipline criteria and another -- the Charles J. Krebs Memorial Scholarship that is limited to Electrical Engineering.
Mr. Charles Krebs (Charlie) passed away in 1993, shortly after his retirement from Georgia Tech. Charlie was a gifted electrical engineer who worked almost his entire life in Electronic Warfare. But more importantly, Charlie, a deeply religious person, was a gentleman and a scholar who had exceptional enthusiasm for his work as well as for life. In dealing with his sponsors and his co-workers, he maintained the highest of ideals. To honor him and to perpetuate his ideals, the Peachtree Roost established the "Charles J. Krebs Memorial Scholarship."
